Verse 1:
Ring ring on the telephone
Is there anybody home
I’m waiting
For you
I’m not like all those other guys
I didn’t want to make you mine
I gave
Myself to you
But you left that gift just sitting by the door
Chorus:
You’re never near me
Cause you think that I am just a waste of time
You never hear me
Cause your new boyfriend's always clogging the line
The girl I once called best friend
Is she there or can you take a message please
I’m begging on my knees
For you to listen to me
Verse 2:
Each night I try to sleep
Leave a message after the beep
Can’t find
The words to say
I tried to give my heart to you
You chose another and broke mine in two
The skies
Are turning grey
And as I knew it would the rain begins to fall
[Chorus]
Bridge:
They say I’m selfish
But all I wanted was to
give the world to you
You called me stupid
Said it’s never gonna happen
I don’t know what to do
Cause every song I hear
Reminds me of the times I spent
With you
With you
Awesome album from start to finish. PW's destinctive style is present throughout, but every track is a fresh effort, and the album successfully transitions from driving rock to mellow contemplation without sounding forced or rehashed. I'm not as big of a fan of the remixes, but I appreciate their inclusion and unique perspective. Hard to ask for more than 16 tracks with no skips! theCANderson
